Technology:

With HART ^® it is possible to establish a digital communication onto an analogue 4 to 20 mA signal. The hardware required only needs a few controlling by software. So it is possible to develop a generic HART ^® slave device driver and adapt it to any microcontroller. Using a table it is easy to implement new device specific commands or adapt existing commands. Furthermore a lot of macros will help the developer to integrate the driver into his application.
